Men’s baseball team splits with No. 3 Point Loma Nazarene
Taylor Loop went 3-for-4 and had a key two-run double as Biola came back from an early six-run deficit and beat No. 3 Point Loma Nazarene 9-7 in the first game of a GSAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Sea Lions won the second game by a score of 11-0 to salvage a split.

Women’s basketball team makes history by attending NAIA tournament for fourth time

Biola women’s basketball made history by attending the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth time in the school’s history and taking home its first tournament win against No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene University.
However, the team was unable to pull out a win in their second game, falling 96-75 to the Lee University Flames.

In Jackson, Tenn., the women’s basketball team kicked off first round action of 2009 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Championship by upsetting No. 9 team Trevecca Nazarene, 65-57. The Eagles were led by senior Megann Alberts and sophomore Jessilyn Conicelli who each scored 16 points.

Biola and Cal State San Marcos showed why they are so close in their rankings this past weekend. They split a pair of close, hard-fought games as the Eagles won the first game by a final of 2-1, but dropped the second game by a 4-3 count. Biola finished the day at 9-8 overall while the Cougars move to 13-11 overall.
