Freelancing

You can find the email of the section editor you are interested in freelancing for on our Staff page.

As a freelance writer or photographer, you have the freedom to decide each week whether to receive an assignment from a section editor. Once an assignment is accepted, you are expected to see it to completion. If you are unsure which type of journalism you are interested in, wanting to gain crucial hands-on experience, looking to show your commitment in preparation for a staff position at the Chimes, or simply curious to see if journalism is the right field for you, then freelancing is a great option!

Staff Positions

If you’re interested in one of the below positions, download or copy the application, fill it out and return it (with any applicable materials) to the Editor-in-Chief at the Chimes office in the upper SUB. You may also submit it via email to [email protected].

If a position has been crossed out, it is currently filled and the Chimes is no longer accepting applications for it.
