Biola alumnus preaches Christ through baseball

Ben Orr, a Biola grad. started the sports ministry camp Called Up Baseball in 2002 with the help of Missionary Athletes International. Called Up Baseball employs three former minor league players, five former Biola players, and two students who currently play on Biola's baseball team.

Track team breaks six school records in GSAC championship

The Eagles’ track and field team continued to reach new heights in their record-setting season. During the GSAC championship, held on Saturday at Point Loma, the Eagles broke six school records on the way to a fifth-place finish for the women’s team and seventh-place for the men.

The crucial last two weeks of the season are over, and the Eagles are in great shape. They ended with a 4-3 win in Tuesday’s final away game against Fresno Pacific, but their victory was no walk in the park.

Eagles baseball slowly fighting back after disappointing start

The latest update on the Biola Basketball's season.
Things haven’t gone exactly as planned this year for the Biola baseball team. Coming into the season as the No. 4 team in the NAIA and with seven returning starters, Biola opened the year with a 1-6 record, knocking them out of the top-25, and it has been an uphill battle ever since.

When I sat down with Chris Lupo and Minde Erickson, two personal trainers from Gold’s Gym, I asked them to give me some fitness tips. Taylor Loop went 3-for-4 and had a key two-run double as Biola came back from an early six-run deficit and beat No. 3 Point Loma Nazarene 9-7 in the first game of a GSAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Sea Lions won the second game by a score of 11-0 to salvage a split.

Women’s basketball team makes history by attending NAIA tournament for fourth time

The latest update on the Biola Basketball's season.
Biola women’s basketball made history by attending the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth time in the school’s history and taking home its first tournament win against No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene University. However, the team was unable to pull out a win in their second game, falling 96-75 to the Lee University Flames.
