Conflict is all around us and always will be. A human being has never existed who has not encountered some sort of problem in their life. Annette Friesen spoke to us about how to handle conflict in a Godly way, which is to love others in the midst of conflict the way Christ would. In the gospels, John tells us there will be tribulation, Paul says there will be confliction and Peter says there will be trouble. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that our lives will be perfect.

We tend to think that if we live good and perfect lives that we will never experience conflict, but that is not the case. No matter what kind of life we live, we will always find some sort of problem knocking at our door sooner or later. Satan loves that we will become involved in problems with strangers and loved ones. From Genesis to Revelation, we see conflict. Thankfully though, in Revelation it says that the world will eventually end in conflict, but with Jesus as our victor.

All in all, we do not need a system, we need a savior, and our savior is Jesus Christ, Friesen said. Next time we find ourselves getting involved in conflict, let us be careful with our words. Friesen also noted that the tongue often ends up as the number one weapon used to hurt people, so we need to use it for good and not wrong — to spread love and not hate. So let us take the log out of our eyes and love one another as Christ loves us.
