Crime Log: April 11, 2013

Among the incidents in this week’s crime log was a DUI on campus involving students.

<b>Hit and run — Lot P, Bluff Housing</b>
Prior to report at 7 p.m. on April 8.
A student noticed scrapes on their car that were not previously present. Campus Safety is currently investigating the incident.

<b>Petty theft — Li Apartments
13601 La Mirada</b>
Between March 25, 11 p.m. and March 27, 12 p.m.
A bike was reported to Campus Safety as stolen. Campus Safety is looking into the theft, but the owner has declined to file a report with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at this point.

>b>Vandalism — Rancho
14540 San Cristobal Dr.</b>
Prior to April 8, 3:40 p.m.
Illegible graffiti scratched into the exterior of building doors with pencil was reported to Campus Safety. The vandalism occurred on Biola’s Rancho Elementary School Campus.

<b>Petty theft — Lido Apartments
14653 Rosecrans</b>
April 3, 4:37 a.m.
A small amount of cash was stolen from a vehicle that was left unlocked. Campus Safety is investigating the case in-house because the victim decided not to report the incident to LASD.

<b>Trespassing — Lot B, Sutherland Hall</b>
April 2, 3:43 p.m.
Campus Safety asked an individual who was cutting through the Sutherland Hall parking lot to leave. The individual complied without incident.

<b>Receiving stolen property — University Drive</b>
March 27, 11:11 p.m.
Campus Safety officers stopped a suspicious person walking through campus for trespassing. After initial contact with the man, the officers notified LASD. Sheriff’s Department officers found a sheriff’s medallion on the suspect’s person and arrested him for possession of stolen property. LASD will continue investigating the incident.

<b>Driving vehicle while under influence of alcohol or drugs — Lot G, Lower Campus</b>
March 27, 7:44 p.m.
Campus Safety stopped a student driving on Lower Campus. More than one of the students in the car, including the driver, were suspected to be under the influence of drugs. Campus Safety referred the incident to Student Development.
