Editorial Staff:
Editor-in-Chief: The editor-in-chief is responsible for the hiring, training and managing of the entire staff of editors, managers, photographers, videographers and writers. The editor-in-chief has final say in all editorial decisions.
Managing production editor: The managing production editor is in charge of the print side of operations, coordinating design and stories, as well as printing, distribution and other logistics.
Managing web editor: The managing web editor is responsible for the development and management of The Chimes Online, including maintaining the site and overseeing staff.
Web content editor: The web content editor is responsible for uploading stories and assisting the managing web editor with developing the web, as well as managing a team of writers.
Assignment editors:
Lens editor: The Lens editor is responsible for generating features and A&E story ideas, assigning stories to a team of writers, mentoring writers, and uploading stories to the web.
Senior news editor: The senior news editor is responsible for generating news story ideas, assigning stories to a team of writers, mentoring writers, and uploading stories to the web.
Assistant news editor: The assistant news editor is responsible for staying on top of breaking news on campus, as well as covering events, with the team of round-the-clock reporters he or she assembles and trains.
Opinions assignment editor: The opinions editor is responsible for generating opinions story ideas, assigning stories to a team of writers, mentoring writers, and uploading stories to the web.
Sports assignment editor: The sports editor is responsible for generating sports story ideas, assigning stories to a team of writers, mentoring writers, and uploading stories to the web.
Copy editors (3): Copy editors are responsible for fact-checking and proofreading all articles before they are published online and in print, as well as generating headlines and acting as AP style gurus.
Visual Staff:
Design editors (2): The co-design editors are responsible for creating bold and innovative layouts for the A and B sections of the newspaper.
Photo editors (2): The co-photo editors are responsible for managing a team of photographers and editing photos for the web and for print.
Video producer: The video producer is responsible for directing a team of three videographers, putting final touches on their work, and uploading the videos.
Photographers (3): Photographers are responsible for shooting all newsworthy events and profiles, and uploading timely photos to the web, under the direction of the photo editors.
Videographers (3): Videographers are responsible for shooting at least one video a week, and doing the majority of the editing for that video, under the direction of the video producer.
Business Staff:
Business manager: The business manager is responsible for the financial structure and stability of The Chimes, including hiring staff members and writers and managing the annual budget.

Advertising manager: The advertising manager is responsible for sustaining a portion of the annual budget through procuring national and local ads, as well as directing the advertising representative.
Advertising representative: The advertising representative, who reports to the advertising manager, is responsible for acting as the liaison between The Chimes advertising staff and the local community, and for maintaining relationships with clients.
Distributor: The distributor is responsible for picking up copies of The Chimes on Thursdays and distributing them around campus and making sure bins are kept clean.
