Cross country runs a great race

The highly anticipated Biola vs. Cal Baptist volleyball match took place on Saturday night with parents and students filling every seat of Chase Gymnasium. Coming into the match ranked fourth in the nation, Biola opened the match with every intention of claiming CBU’s No. 3 ranking. Despite their attempts to hold off the Eagles, Biola made it look easy against the Lancer squad, overwhelming them with scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 26-24.

Tough week for women’s soccer

The Biola women's soccer team lost their game against Point Loma Oct. 4, which dropped the Eagles 1-2-0.
Point Loma picked up its first conference win 2-1 against Biola on Saturday, Oct. 4, dropping the Eagles to 1-2-0 in conference play and 5-3-0 overall.

Biola got back on track this week after last week’s two tough losses derailed their 15-match winning streak. On Saturday, the Eagles traveled to Santa Clarita to take on The Master’s College, and walked away with the sweep, 25-20, 25-15 and 25-21.

Men’s soccer kicked off league play this week as they took on GSAC opponents The Master's College and Vanguard University. Unfortunately, the team did not begin league as well as they would have liked, tying the first game with Master's and losing by a single goal to Vanguard.

The women’s soccer team faced a 3-0 home defeat to open up their first GSAC game against The Master's College. The strong defense by the opposing team eliminated any goals by the Eagles’ offensive team. Master’s stopped five goal attempts, and Biola struggled to get down the field early.

The Biola women's cross country team recorded a 5th place finish among a contingent of 34 teams, while the men’s team placed 14th out of 25 with both teams making great times due to the lack of muddy or rugged terrain which made for a fast paced course at the UC Riverside invitational on Saturday.
