Do denominations destroy the unity of the body of Christ?

Splintering congregations in recent years has made the question of whether denominations destroy the unity of the Church one of crucial relevance. If Christ is the center of our faith and we base our lives on relationship rather than religion, should denominations matter?

Time to create a new image

My fellow conservatives and brave Republicans, there have been some tragic election losses in the past few years, in Congress mainly because of corruption and scandals, and in the presidential election for many reasons. But fear not! Now is a unique time in history when we have the opportunity to recreate our tarnished image.

Thoughts on actor’s “Bale Out”

On the set of his latest movie, “Terminator 4,” actor Christian Bale unleashed what has come to be known as a "Bale Out:" an f-bomb laden, profanity laced, 4-minute tirade hurled at the director of photography. Reflecting upon this incident, I recognized that we, as consumer America, have a problem. The problem is that we compartmentalize our buying morality with our human morality.

Why I am not a Christian

According to a CBS news report, some 83 percent of Americans identify themselves as Christians. We should rejoice, right? Not so fast. If eight of every 10 people in the U.S. profess faith, why is our country filing for moral bankruptcy? Quite possibly because we do not really know what it means to be a Christian.
