Dorm of the week: Alpha Chi

Alpha Chi is changing from the only all-girl dorm on Biola's campus to co-ed housing.
You might identify Alpha Chi – located between Sigma Chi and Horton Hall, across from Emerson Hall – by its flurry of activity and high-pitched girlish squeals, but this lively dorm has its benefits. Built in 1966, Alpha Chi is a female-only dorm that is home to many underclassmen as well as upperclassmen.

How to register to vote absentee

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain answers a question during a townhall-style presidential debate at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. With the election rapidly approaching, absentee ballots are approaching their deadline. Photo by AP Photo

Art Gallery features local artists

One feature of the art gallery being featured this week is the 'Flower Power' display, a collection of wax-dipped sculptures made up of silk flowers, thread, plastic spiders. Photo by Ashley Gurriero
The Art Gallery is one of Biola’s hidden gems, like the olive grove – before they added the bridge, anyway – the Sutherland coffee cart and the courtyard of Hart Hall, it is too easily overlooked and overdue for a visit. Both of the gallery’s two new featured artists are California locals whose work plays with ideas and images from nature.

Red Mango: a “real” frozen yogurt treat

The first thing you’ll notice about Fullerton’s Red Mango frozen yogurt store – or any Red Mango store for that matter – is the distinct color scheme. The frozen yogurt chain takes the red in its name seriously with the vibrant hue extending from chairs with “o” shaped backs to red lamps hanging delicately from the ceiling.
