The Eagles secure victory against rivals APU in the PacWest Conference.

Men’s basketball returned to Azusa, Calif. Friday night for their second set of games against the Azusa Pacific University Cougars. They kept the spark going from last week’s wins and gained another victory, 81-71.

The Eagles showed up and showed out. Senior guard Michael Bagatourian scored 31 points and six rebounds in tonight’s game. Junior guard Alex Wright followed with a total of 15 points and six rebounds. To help secure the win senior guard Chris Rossow contributed 14 points and six rebounds.

SCORING SUCCESS

The Eagles were down going into the game and the deficit was only five points 12 minutes into the first half. Biola tied the game at 19 points with nine minutes left of the first half. Biola kept a steady game and finished at halftime up by 12 points, 37-25.

The Eagles really hustled this game and were on top of their defense. Biola made a total of 13 points off of turnovers. Biola also made 11 fast break points compared to their competitors only having six points. The Eagles left the Cougars in the dust and secured another victory, 81-71.

The Eagles (4-2) will return home to Chase Gymnasium Saturday, Feb. 13 starting at 4:30 p.m. The live-stream game footage is available on Biola Athletics’ webpage.

Every single game junior-senior year you could find me on the sidelines taking photos or getting a quote from a coach. I have never been athletic but I enjoy watching and learning about all different sports. I love telling stories. This is just my first year at Biola as a transfer student and first semester at The Chimes but I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
