Dear Simon: “My journal of a lost spirit who still exists in me”

I will miss Professor Bill Simon, who welcomed me into the Journalism Program. His encouragement and support helped me during my first semester at Biola Professor Simon’s class was enjoyable with knowledgeable lectures and materials to guide me in my Christian field of Journalism. I will always remember his smiles and laughs when he spoke to me. His outstanding prayers for others, which made him shine his own glory of the Anointed One’s image. He touched me as well as anyone he encountered in his life. I thank Professor Simon for blessing me with his wisdom and words to always trust your heart in the Lord Jesus. Each step I take when I am walking to my classes, I will place each foot forward to apply everything he has taught me in his class. I will place each foot forward to apply everything he has taught me in his class. I will pray as Professor Simon is here with me in spirit, before class and after class, as he did for his students. I will miss seeing Professor Simon arriving to school and pulling over to say a prayer for me, having a counseling meeting with me in his office, and ending with a prayer for me. Seeing him in Albertsons and standing in the aisle praying for me. Joy and humbleness are wonderful words to describe Professor Simon’s smiles, laughter, and Christian spirit.

Benedictions,

Malachiel-Melchior La’ Viollette, current Biola journalism student
