Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 was a momentous day in the history of the United States. Barack Obama, the first black person to ever take presidential office, was officially inaugurated as the president of the United States of America. Hundreds of thousands of Americans from across the nation attended the event, filling The National Mall from the Capitol Building past the Washington Monument.
