Playoffs are drawing nearer and nearer meaning it’s time to make your final adjustments so you can make a strong push toward the championships. In just a few weeks, fantasy teams will be going head-to-head and you will need to be on top of things.

Make sure you know what players are poised for big second halves. Also, keep on top of the injury list. Know when your studs will be sitting and set your roster accordingly.

Keeping an eye on wide receivers

A couple of big stories to look at this week involve star wide receivers. Randy Moss makes his Titans debut Sunday against the Dolphins. We expect Moss to have a good game seeing as how he will be looking to make a good impression on his new team.

Sidney Rice returning to play after injury

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings will be welcoming back someone who could make a huge impact on your playoff chances. Vikings wide receiver Sidney Rice will be returning to action Sunday after missing all of the season so far and headlines our list of guys to go after for the long haul. Brett Favre has been struggling this season, but he had a great game last week, his best ever in fact, and Rice has always been one of his favorite targets. Rice is coming off of a big hip injury but he has too much upside. Make an offer to whoever has him and hope they haven’t been paying attention to his recovery timeline.

Potential players to buy low

Matt Schuab, QB for the Houston Texans is someone we think could be a great buy-low right now. He has fallen far short of the high expectations that were set for him this year, but is poised to make a strong comeback in the second half of the year, mostly due to his schedule. The Texans will play Jacksonville twice, then Denver and the Eagles. In fact, there is only one scary matchup on his schedule and that is the New York Jets. I think that teams will start stacking the box in hopes of trying to slow down Arian Foster, which could be all Schuab needs to renew that lost chemistry with Andre Johnson.

Running back recommendations

Two other bigger name guys you might be able to get pretty cheap are Maurice Jones-Drew and Steven Jackson. Both were projected to be top ten running backs this year but neither has been the number one RB you could count on. However, both have steadily been stepping it up, and both have very favorable schedules in the last few weeks of the season.

Steven Jackson will face San Francisco and Seattle for the last two games, while MJD has Oakland, Indianapolis, Washington and Houston as his last four opponents. If you can get a good deal for one of these players because of a doubtful owner, jump on that opportunity and watch one of these guys take you all the way to the championship.
