A student was stopped while apparently driving under the influence on Lower Campus on Wednesday night. Campus Safety stopped a car that was driving erratically in Lot G, the lower campus parking lot, at 7:44 p.m, said John Ojeisekhoba, chief of Campus Safety.
Further investigation revealed that more than one of the students in the car, including the driver, were intoxicated, Ojeisekhoba said. He believes they were most likely under the influence of drugs, rather than alcohol.
Campus Safety did not alert the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department since Biola’s campus is private property, Ojeisekhoba said. The school is not required to refer the case to LASD, but instead it will be dealt with by Student Development, he explained.
