- Senators heard a new proposal from junior Nancy Davong, multi-cultural relations chair, requesting $1,700 to fund a Caf event on Feb. 23, including a short program and educational posters for Black History Month. The department of multi-cultural relations will be partnering with the Black Student Association to highlight black history, as no department has a specific budget allocated for celebrating Black History Month. Funds will go towards facilities costs, advertising and performers.
- A pending proposal requesting title changes for the positions of vice president of services, AS social board chair and service chair was withdrawn to be reworked to propose changing all AS chair titles to “coordinator.” Senior Ryan Freudenburg, AS senior vice president, said that because there are no boards, chair positions were outdated.“We withdrew [the proposal] and we’re going to be re-proposing with the broader changes next week,” Freudenburg said.
