Kelly Van Duine, Staff Writer
I am a senior English major with a concentration in Literature here at Biola, and I was born and raised just outside of Seattle, Washington. I recently graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Psychology, and am a pre-Law student. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, spending time with my pets, and bird watching.
In 2019, I became a full-time, live-in caregiver for my grandmother with Dementia and Parkinson’s. I cared for her full-time for five years and became a certified Home Care Aide (HCA) in Washington state. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in law, where I hope to focus in elder, healthcare, or disability law. I am passionate about mental health, disabilities, and caregiving. If I’m not reading a book, I’m spending time with my dog Lucy and bird Charlie, or looking out my window to appreciate all of the beautiful species of birds that God created.
