Clarissa Jocelyn, Managing Editor
Raised in a small town in Indonesia, I moved to San Francisco and attended an art school. I once aspired to be an architect but soon realized that overseeing construction projects was not for the weak. Clarissa is a junior in animation.
I enjoy reading poems, classics, and comics, with favorite authors including C.S. Lewis, Thomas Merton, Kierkegaard, and Christian Wiman. Growing up I always had a question of how my art practice relates to my faith and the church; how do I do theology through the arts? As I tread through that immense, complex, and mystical question, the hope is to pursue arts and theology. As to why I am in The Chimes, I was a graphic designer last year and had the opportunity to continue this year with a different role. I have always loved stories, from far on the Martian planet to the neighborhood of Biola University, and that is why I’m excited to be in The Chimes.
