Guest Column
In the past, The Chimes featured letters to the editor in its print publication. Now, as a digital platform, those interested in contributing can submit a guest column. Open to all writers, but highly encouraged for current students, alumni and community members of Biola University or those directly affiliated.
Guidelines:
- Columns can range from 200 to 1,000 words and may include responses to articles, personal essays, reflections on current issues, explorations of timeless themes, or cultural critiques.
- Guest columns that unfairly attack another person or institution will not be published (note: reasoned criticism does not equate with ad hominem attack)
- Guest columns that contain factual inaccuracy will not be published
- Include the writer’s full name, city or town and Biola affiliation (if applicable)
Submission:
Please send your guest column to [email protected]
Selection process and timeline:
- Columns selected for publication will typically receive a response within a week.
- Columns are decided by the editors
- Columns may be edited and shortened for space.
- The Chimes is under no obligation to publish any guest column
