“The Losers” is too mindless to be an enjoyable action ride

"The Losers" is about a team of Green Berets who defy orders in the face of a moral dilemma. The movie, full of war-movie stereotypes, can't decide whether to be serious or not.

‘Kick-Ass’: As over-the-top as you can get

"Kick-Ass," gruesomely violent and profanity-laced, takes the superhero genre and looks at it from our perspective as mere, powerless humans.
With the comic book and superhero film craze in full swing, it would be easy just to release another run-of-the-mill superhero movie. “Kick-Ass,” however, is a cut above the rest.

Soldiers’ perseverance explored as series begins wrapping up

HBO's miniseries "The Pacific" follows the story of real-life Marines who fought in the U.S. Pacific campaign against the Japanese in WWII. It was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
Although containing one of the best scenes of the series, part six of "The Pacific" feels like the beginning of the end.

MGMT’s ‘Congratulations’ refluent to 1960s psychadelic rock

"Congratulations" is a follow up to “Oracular Spectacular,” which sold over 500,000 copies in the United States alone. The band's sound in this album is very unexpected.

The Fosters' (Steve Carell, Tina Fey) dating life becomes far more exciting when they leave the suburbs for a night in the city and take the reservation of a no-show at an expensive restaurant.
