A new twist on music-making

Joel P West is not your typical musician. Content with his teaching career and happy to make music on the side, despite his insatiable ability to create vulnerable and passionate songs, West views himself as just another guy who plays guitar.

Some spent years saving money to buy their dream car, others worked 40 hours a week in high school to pay for parts to spiff theirs up, and others spent hundreds of hours in the garage with dad learning the trade and perfecting their prizes.

Four college students who decided the town was in need of a coffee shop started this health-conscious establishment, but they didn’t stop there.

It started out as a normal Thursday. Well, almost. In addition to my normal routine, I had an assignment to walk around with a plastic shopping bag for the entire day. Every time I was about to throw something away, I had to instead put said trash item into said bag in order to discover how much waste I generate during the course of a day.
