The crack of the bat and return to a packed afternoon at Eagles’ Diamond is the key sign that Biola baseball is back. As the Eagles open the 2026 spring season, the team looks forward to establishing momentum through early games.
REFLECTING ON 2025
Last season, Biola battled through a full 52 game schedule with ups and downs. The Eagles had moments of electric offense, like the thrilling 16-15 win over Azusa Pacific and late-inning resilience against Concordia on Senior Day, as well as tough road and conference series that kept the team grinding.
Biola’s 2025 campaign was marked by competitive PacWest play, signature home victories and a roster that balanced experienced returners with newcomers finding their footing. While consistency proved elusive at times, those experiences helped forge a deeper, more confident team ready for what’s next.
The team also earned academic honors, securing the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2024-25 season, a testament to success on and off the field.
2026 SEASON OUTLOOK
The 2026 Eagles team opened with early-season contests at home against Regis University on January 30-31, a traditional launch that gives fans an early look at this year’s squad.
Head Coach Jesse Rodgers, entering his fourth season, brings back key contributors such as senior James Whitman who was Second Team All-PacWest and junior Adiel Torres who was Third Team All-PacWest, anchoring a lineup that blends veteran leadership with fresh talent.
Biola was picked No. 5 in the PacWest preseason poll, signaling respect from league peers and expectations of a competitive season ahead.
The Eagles welcome a wave of newcomers, including eight freshmen and nine transfers, adding depth and excitement to the roster.
EARLY ACTION AND START
Biola’s early schedule features non-conference tests at CSU San Marcos and matchups with the likes of Hawaii Hilo and Westmont, as well as home stand doubleheaders against Chaminade and others.
These early games are pivotal for establishing lineup rhythm, strengthening pitching depth, and building momentum before the PacWest grind fully hits in March and April.
PACWEST AND BEYOND
With conference play looming, every game at Eagles’ Diamond and on the road will matter. The team will aim to climb the PacWest standings, keep the lineup potent, and tighten the defense that can carry them into postseason conversations.
Fans can expect an exciting blend of seasoned performers and fresh sparks. Whether it’s a crowd-pleasing extra-inning rally or a standout pitching performance, this team is set to make its mark on the 2026 season.
One thing is clear: Biola baseball is back, ready to compete, and looking to soar higher than ever this spring.
