Men’s basketball faced off against the La Sierra University Golden Eagles at home on Wednesday night. Biola started a win streak by winning back-to-back games. The Eagles mopped the floor with La Sierra, 84-55. 

Redshirt junior guard Alex Wright led the flock making 14 points, three steals and five rebounds. Redshirt senior forward Jesse Elrod also gained 14 points, three blocks and six rebounds. Redshirt senior forward Michael Bagatourian and redshirt senior guard Chris Rossow each added 13 points to the scoreboard.

DOMINATING ON THE COURT

The Eagles took an early lead in the first half and La Sierra was unable to decrease the deficit the entirety of the game. With six minutes left in the first half, Biola had a 15-point lead. La Sierra struggled to stay afloat. Biola wrapped up the first half with a 21-point lead. The second half was similar to the first, as the Eagles remained in the lead for the remainder of the game. La Sierra managed to decrease the deficit to 18 points but the Eagles quickly changed that as they gained a comfortable 31-point lead.

The Eagles left La Sierra in the dust securing a lead with a 28-point advantage at the end of the second half. The Golden Eagles were unable to catch up and Biola ultimately won, 84-55.

Men’s basketball (5-1) will return home to compete against West Coast Baptist College on Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. Footage from today’s game can be found on the Biola Athletics website.

I enrolled in community college and started working. I didn't really know what I wanted to do. I took one photography class and I knew this is what I want to do. My love for journalism, photography, and sports started on the sidelines of my high school football field. Every single game junior-senior year you could find me on the sidelines taking photos or getting a quote from a coach. I have never been athletic but I enjoy watching and learning about all different sports. I love telling stories. This is just my first year at Biola as a transfer student and first semester at The Chimes but I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
