On Friday evening, men’s water polo headed north to face off against the No. 8 University of California, Davis Aggies. The Eagles suffered another devastating loss in the pool, as the Aggies won, 22-3.

Freshman goalkeeper Mitchell Carpenter continues to add to his college athletic accomplishments, gaining seven saves against UC Davis.

DROWNING DEFEAT

The Aggies pulled ahead in the first quarter, giving them a six-point advantage over Biola. In the second quarter UC Davis scored another goal, putting the score at 7-0. Sophomore center defender Maxwell Osborn put the first point on the scoreboard for Biola. At the half the score was 9-1.

UC Davis continued to add to their lead with another six goals in the third quarter. Sophomore attacker Kenny Wulf and freshman center Luke Franklin added to the scoreboard for the Eagles in the second half. The Eagles did not soar, as they lost, 22-3.

Men’s water polo (1-15, 0-7) will compete in the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament on Oct. 23-24. Footage from today’s match is located on the Biola Athletics website.

My love for journalism, photography, and sports started on the sidelines of my high school football field. Every single game junior-senior year you could find me on the sidelines taking photos or getting a quote from a coach. I have never been athletic but I enjoy watching and learning about all different sports. I love telling stories. This is just my first year at Biola as a transfer student and first semester at The Chimes but I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
