Men’s water polo annihilated by Loyola Marymount

The Eagles suffer devastating loss against the Lions, 24-2.

On Oct. 16, men’s water polo faced off against the Loyola Marymount University Lions. The Eagles added to their losing streak, now standing overall 1-14 and 0-6 conference. The Eagles managed to make two goals, but ultimately left defeated, 24-2.

LEFT UNDERWATER

The Lions pulled ahead in the first quarter, giving them a seven-point advantage over Biola. With over a minute left in the first quarter sophomore attacker Kenny Wulf made a goal over the Lions. In the second quarter LMU went on a five-point score streak, putting the scoreboard at 12-1. Biola responded with a goal of their own at the end from freshman utility player John Grasso. 

LMU went on to score 11 goals for the remainder of the game, leaving Biola with another loss, 24-2.

Men’s water polo (1-14, 0-6) will head to Davis, California to face off against the University of California, Davis on Friday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. Footage from today’s match is located on the Biola Athletics website.

My love for journalism, photography, and sports started on the sidelines of my high school football field. Every single game junior-senior year you could find me on the sidelines taking photos or getting a quote from a coach. I have never been athletic but I enjoy watching and learning about all different sports. I love telling stories. This is just my first year at Biola as a transfer student and first semester at The Chimes but I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
