Biola men’s tennis redeemed themselves from last week’s loss to Azusa Pacific University. On Thursday afternoon, the Eagles competed at home against the Westmont University Warriors and won all of their doubles matches and five of their singles matches. 

The men came into their match swinging, with sophomores Alexei Prokopchuk, Antonio R. Varona, Alex Sedeno, Andres Meneses, and senior Erik Martinez all won their single matches. Most of the men won their sets with a score of six. Meneses played three sets, losing his first set 0-6, but won the second set 7-6 and was victorious overall winning the last set, 10-3.

DOUBLING DOWN

Double team Prokopchuk and Varona won their match showing no mercy in their win,  6-1. Freshman Isaac Cordova and Sedeno followed winning their match 6-2. Sophomore Sebastian Herrera and Martinez were the last and final pair to be victorious against the Warriors, 6-3.

Men’s tennis (8-5) will return home to the Biola Tennis Center Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m. to go against Point Loma Nazarene University. The match will be live on the Biola Athletics website.

My love for journalism, photography, and sports started on the sidelines of my high school football field. Every single game junior-senior year you could find me on the sidelines taking photos or getting a quote from a coach. I have never been athletic but I enjoy watching and learning about all different sports. I love telling stories. This is just my first year at Biola as a transfer student and first semester at The Chimes but I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
