Men’s basketball played their last home game on Friday afternoon in their third of four scheduled games against Concordia University Irvine. Biola has beaten the Golden Eagles every game of the season, and by considerable numbers. Last night was no different, as the Eagles ended their final home game of the season, 82-65.

Junior guard Whitten Dominguez led the way for Biola, earning 21 points on eight of 11 shooting and throwing five assists. Freshman forward Maximo Milovich recorded nearly the same offensive stats. He tallied 19 points on eight of 10 shooting with four rebounds on the side. Junior guard Alex Wright contributed 17 points and seven rebounds for a solid all-around defensive and offensive game. Senior guard Michael Bagatourian also earned 12 points in the Eagles’ fashionable win.

ONE MORE TO GO

It was a quick start to the game for Biola. They came out and gained a 9-0 lead and never allowed for CUI to top them the rest of the game. The Eagles shot an impressive 55% from the field, nearly 44% from behind the arc and 100% from the line. Their solid shooting gave them the edge needed to defeat Concordia yet again, 82-65.

The Eagles have two games left to win and bring head coach Dave Holmquist to record 1,000 career wins. The odds are looking good that Holmquist will reach that historic number by the end of the season and ultimately lead his team into the playoffs.

Biola (7-3) will head to Irvine, Calif. today to finish out their fourth and final game against Concordia University Irvine at 4:30 p.m. Livestreaming of the game can be found on the Biola Athletics webpage.

[email protected]  Originally from a small farm town in Ohio, I have put aside my corn shucking gloves to embrace a new life in the Angel City to study sports journalism. It is true what they say about culture shock and LA traffic. I am used to being late to work because of getting stuck behind a John Deere tractor, but now it is because of gridlock on the I5. However, I have quickly adjusted to the city life and haven’t looked back since. I moved from the midwest out to Los Angeles over two years ago. Since then my life has changed in big ways. I have learned the importance of pursuing my dreams in order to make them a reality. Sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From the time I was able to stand up on my own, there was always a ball in my hand. Basketball quickly became my MO. I was involved in multiple athletic organizations, traveling on AAU teams and playing my way through my middle and high school league. My passion for the sport is what inspired me to pursue a career in sports journalism. Being at a place like Biola that has an abundance of opportunities has allowed me to expand from my small-town roots, and that is something I am truly thankful for.
