Every morning, right before chapel, I scramble into the Caf in my sweats with my hair thrown up. It’s 9:26 a.m. and I have to get to chapel on time so I can get credit. As many others do, I head straight for the bagel line. Unfortunately, I have to wait. It is rare that going through the line will take less than the four minutes I have, but bagels are tasty, quick and easy for rushing students. Maybe this is why they are such a treasured commodity within our cafeteria community. If you love Bon Appétit’s bagels like I do and are looking for more of their tasty kind in a comfortable atmosphere, you’ll love Bonjour Bagel Café.

The friendly bakery at 15010 La Mirada Blvd. next door to L.A. Fitness, already has an established relationship with Biola. For years they have been providing bagels to the cafeteria and, more recently, to Common Grounds, The Talon and Eagle’s Nest. However, if you choose to make your way down to the café, you’ll save yourself almost a quarter on every bagel.

Baked fresh daily, the cinnamon-sugar glazed bagels and “everything” bagels we have come to love are available weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and weekends from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at this welcoming location.

They have even more to offer than just the usual breakfast selections. The bakery has day-old bagels, called bagel chips, that are baked to be crunchy, taking on a golden hue and served with sides of cream cheese. They also have a special treat for your sweet tooth – bagel chips baked with honey and sugar.

If you have already become acquainted with Bonjour Bagel Café, you may be surprised at some of their new additions to the menu. A sausage, egg and cheese bagel sandwich is now available. Also, they have updated their list of lunch sandwiches. Three new options have been added and hours have been extended to
augment lunchtime business. With the choice of a lunch sandwich, customers enjoy a bag of bagel chips with cream cheese and a pickle.

Bonjour Bagel Café connotes a relaxing atmosphere with both couch and table seating. Free WiFi is available for customers while they enjoy their treats. It is an agreeable and low-key substitute for your morning routine.
