Sen. Joe Biden has demonstrated dedicated service, action, partnership, and humility while serving in congress for the last 35 years, making him the longest serving senator in Delaware history. His displayed patriotism and strong work ethic supports Obama’s choice of him as vice president of the United States of America.

Barack Obama’s decision for running mate was an educated choice, unlike McCain’s which was based on strategy.

His displayed patriotism and strong work ethic supports Obama’s choice of him as vice president of the United States of America.

As the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, his top priority is bringing home our American troops without leaving behind chaos in Iraq. Biden effectively advocates his position and has taken action to provide stability and peace to the Balkans and Kosovo. He will continue congressional efforts toward ending genocide in Darfur, Sudan.

For the last 16 years, Biden has partnered with bipartisan fervor in the Senate’s Judiciary Committee. As a constitutional scholar and a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, he used his legal knowledge to write some of the most innovative criminal justice proposals in recent history. The Biden crime bill is widely credited with the dramatic drop in crime rates during the 1990s.

His landmark Violence Against Women Act strengthened federal penalties for abusers and repeat sex offenders. It has provided over $4 billion to fund battered women’s shelters, establish a national domestic violence hotline, and train police, prosecutors and nurses.

Never has there been a more humble and dedicated politician. Biden, a member of the Roman Catholic Church, attributes his unassuming nature to his faith in God. He is consistently ranked as one of the least wealthy members of the Senate and he understands what it is like to struggle under today’s economy and will continue to work hard to make life better for all American citizens.
