Ambrose Pizzeria serves quite the slice

Ambrose Pizzeria in La Mirada is a great place to go for giant slices of pizza and a casual environment.

This week we took a trip to Ambrose Pizzeria. Ambrose is a great little hole-in-the-wall pizza joint located in La Mirada off Valley View Ave.

Menu offers more than pizza

It is a great place to go if you are looking for a change from your regular delivery pizza places. One of their highlights is the giant slices of pizza they serve. These slices are more than enough for two people to share or for one person to have for two meals. The pizza takes a little while to be made because it is made after you order, but it is definitely worth the wait. There are also plenty of topping options to put on your pizza. In addition to pizza, they also serve sandwiches, salads and pastas, so there are options to choose from.

The building itself is very nice and clean. You order your pizza at the counter in the middle of the store and then seat yourself at one of their booths or tables. There are several TVs along the walls playing sports. On Tuesdays they have a taco and trivia night.

Ambrose offers reasonable prices

The food at Ambrose is pretty reasonably priced. You can get a large slice of cheese pizza (and keep in mind that it is quite large) for $4.15 or a combo for $7.15. Toppings can be added on at $.75 per topping for the large slice. A 6” sub runs for $4.80, large salads are between $5-6 and pastas are between $7-10.

Ambrose is open Sunday-Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. In addition to taking walk-ins, they also take reservations, and they do take outs and catering.

Overall, we give Ambrose Pizzeria a 4 out of 5. It’s a great place to go with a date, friends, or if you are really hungry! The pizza is great, the portions are large and it’s close to campus. So if you are looking to have some good pizza, swing by Ambrose Pizzeria!
