So far we’ve only reviewed are cafes and restaurants. While we love cafes, we were getting a little bored, so this week we reviewed Speed Zone. This has to be the best place we’ve reviewed yet! Speed Zone is located in the city of Industry, Calif., and is only 20 minutes away form Biola.
Not just a race track
Speed Zone is an amazing arcade, miniature golf course, diner and race track all combined. The arcade has a wide variety of games to choose from, plus there is a four-lane bowling alley inside. In addition to the arcade, there’s the Speed Zone Bar & Grill. On the side of Speed Zone there is a miniature golf course that boasts 18 holes. The main attraction is the four different race tracks. There is the Top Eliminator Dragster, the Slick Trax , the Turbo Track and the Grand Prix track. Speed Zone offers its patrons the opportunity to drive regular sized go-karts to legitimate dragsters. They add powder to the Slick Trax so you can drift your car, and the Grand Prix lets you drive a dragster by yourself and challenges you to beat the fastest time.
Impressively low prices
The most impressive part of Speed Zone is the prices. Everything runs off of Play Cards. You buy one card and just keep reloading it, similar to a place like Dave & Busters. The race tracks also run on the Play Cards. Besides the convenience of the cards, Speed Zone offers amazing deals when you reload. Depending on the amount you reload to your card, they will add on a complimentary amount as well. Another cool aspect is that you can share the card between friends, making the whole experience even more affordable.
There are a few things you should know before going to Speed Zone. One is that if you intend to drive any of the race cars make sure to wear shoes that have backings. Also, if you have long hair, they will ask you to tie it back for safety reasons. They do not have lockers, so if you carry a large purse you will be asked to put it on the side of the track, or a friend can hold it for you.
A great experience
We’ve been there multiple times during the week and the weekend, and both times the race tracks were not overly crowded at all, making this the perfect place for midweek breaks or weekend adventures with friends. For the same price you’d pay for a single movie ticket you could be feeling the adrenaline rush that comes with being behind the wheel of a 300-horsepower dragster. Personally, we choose the latter option, but don’t just take our word for it, go experience it for yourself. Overall, we loved Speed Zone and didn’t have any complaints. We gave Speed Zone a 5 out of 5 stars for its wide variety of attractions and cheap prices.
