Scorching temperatures call for cold, blended drinks. Here are some favorites you can enjoy from the comfort of your dorm room, house or apartment with a few simple ingredients. Throw everything into a blender and sip on one of these tasty drinks to cool off while you study.

Each recipe yields approximately a 12 ounce drink. Measurements are approximate and will vary due to amount and taste preference. For a thinner consistency with any of these drinks, blend with less ice. For a thicker consistency, use more ice. If you do not prefer a coffee taste, any drink can be turned into a blended creme by omitting coffee and adding more milk. Blend on high speed until smooth.

Blueberry white chocolate mocha

6 oz. milk

1 cup ice

½ cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen) Note: if using frozen blueberries, add less ice

½  to 1 teaspoon of instant coffee, suited to taste preference. 1/4 cup white chocolate chips

Optional: whipped cream, additional blueberries

Chocolate-covered strawberry

6 oz. milk

½ cup strawberries (fresh or frozen) or one to two tablespoons of strawberry syrup, suited to taste preference. If using frozen strawberries, use less ice.

½ to 1 teaspoon of instant coffee, dependent on taste.

Take this drink to the next step and make an alternate version — chocolate covered raspberry  — by simply adding frozen raspberries.
