Crime Log: April 19 — 24

A fire and instances of petty theft make up this week’s crime log.

Fire, Accidental cause — Grove Modulars

April 19, 11:58 a.m.

An accidental trash can fire occurred and was extinguished by two individuals. The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived and confirmed the fire had been put out.

Petty Theft — Emerson Hall

Reported April 20, incident occurred between April 16 at 8:00 a.m. and April 19 at 11:00 a.m.

A student's locked bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at the hall entrance. The incident was reported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Campus Safety is investigating.

Petty Theft — Sigma Chi

Reported April 20, incident occurred between April 16 at 3:00 p.m. and April 17 at 11:59 p.m.

A student’s unlocked bicycle was taken from either the Caf bike rack or the Sigma bike rack. Student reported the incident to the LASD and there is an ongoing investigation by Campus Safety.

Disturbing the peace — Lot S

April 23, 1:07 a.m.

A student complained about a group practicing for Mock Rock being too loud.The group left prior to the officer's arrival.  

Disturbing the peace — Hope Hall

April 23, 3:16 p.m.

A student complained about people running on the hallway floor above. The noise stopped upon the officer's arrival.  

Disturbing the peace — Lot S

April 24, 1:16 a.m.

Students complained about another group practicing for Mock Rock on the third floor were too loud. An officer asked them to stop.  

Disturbing the peace — Lot S

April 24, 1:30 a.m.

A student complained about a second group practicing too loud for Mock Rock on the fifth floor. An officer asked them to stop.

Disturbing the peace — Lot K

April 24, 1:51 a.m.

A student complained about individuals practicing for Mock Rock being too loud. Individuals left upon officer’s arrival.
