Brooke Fraser will not perform at the Nov. 13 Eddy due to personal reasons. The reallocated funds will remain in the Eddy budget, said Anders Corey, Associated Students vice president of marketing and communications.

This week’s Associated Students Senate meeting consisted of one proposal and a same day vote.

PROPOSAL

AS Music and Arts Coordinator Mark Nesbitt proposed for the reallocation of $3,000 from the Christmas Tree Concert budget to the upcoming Eddy on Nov. 13. The usual facilities costs were forgiven for this year’s Christmas ceremony, which resulted in a $3,000 surplus. The reallocated funds would allow the Eddy concert to feature Brooke Fraser, a performer from New Zealand.

VOTING

In a same day vote, the senate unanimously passed Nesbitt’s allocation proposal in the full amount of $3,000.

EVENT FEEDBACK

To close the meeting, senators discussed the feedback they received from their residents about the “How Do We Love?” event. Consistent responses included that the event was inaccurately portrayed as a debate rather than a discussion, and that the mediation appeared to be unbalanced.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Next week’s Senate meeting is cancelled due to Torrey Conference.
