PAC partnership

The first Associated Students Senate meeting of the spring semester began with a training session for a new partnership between the senators and the President’s Administrative Council. This pilot program will attempt to facilitate better communication between AS and the PAC. The senators have been assigned by pairs to a PAC member and will meet throughout the semester to discuss various issues.

Spring banquet proposal

Next, the senate heard the first proposal of the semester from Amanda Clarke, AS social events coordinator. Clarke proposed for funds to promote the Spring Banquet, which will occur on March 21. The banquet will have a nautical theme and take place in Newport Beach. The proposed amount of $200 will cover the cost of doughnuts and crackers to remind people of the banquet.

10/40 project

This week's meeting concluded with a discussion of the 10/40 project.

Counting down the forty days until Missions Conference, the project will encourage students to take a 10 minute fast from technology and pray for global issues. The project will begin on Jan. 31.
