One of the most basic essentials to any wardrobe is a white tee. A white tee dress is even more versatile for any girl’s wardrobe this summer. It serves as a blank canvas for jewelry, hair, accessories, shoes, jeans and everything else. No matter what your style is, a white tee can easily fit into your current wardrobe.

The base for these three distinct outfits is a white tee dress from Alexander Wang.

1. THE URBAN LOOK

When creating the first look, an urban girl comes to mind. I imagined her rushing around New York City with her headphones around her neck to catch a taxi and meet up with some friends. She’s a total tomboy, but has a pretty good sense of fashion. She’s effortlessly cool and completely confident in herself. Start off by thinking of a bold color to accent the white tee. I decided on red. You want the look to include something that juxtaposes the feminine dress like a baseball cap. It provides an edgier, more urban feel to something that is usually so feminine. Use a pair of red Nike Air Force Ones, a black leather quilted backpack and gold earrings to finish off the look.

2. THE LOS ANGELES LOOK

For the second look, I had a Los Angeles girl in mind. She’s very laid-back but takes her outfits seriously. She’s probably going to meet up with friends on a Sunday for lunch and shopping. To make this outfit more about the accessories, you should pair the white dress with white pants and a pair of denim wedge sneakers. For a pop of color, try using a tropical headband and a yellow clutch. A pairing of Ray Ban aviators and silver hoop earrings will top off the look.

3. THE BOHEMIAN LOOK

The third look is a bohemian look. It’s about the time of year that everyone starts to go to farmers markets and music festivals, so I wanted to create a look that reflected that. Using the white tee dress as the base once again, use printed denim bell bottoms to add some interesting patterns. Since there is already so much going on with the patterned denim and accessories, try using a really neutral but fun wedge to add some length to the leg since bell bottoms tend to have a lot of extra fabric. Have fun with the accessories by choosing a red studded fringe purse and a patterned scarf as the accents for this outfit. The ‘60s-inspired Ray Bans and black sun hat provide that extra protection from the summer sun.

You can create three totally different looks from the same basic piece. Go out there, buy your white tee and have fun with whatever you’re feeling that day! Just like a basic white tee dress, live your life with the idea of a blank canvas in mind and see what looks you can create.
