John Thune, Biola alumni and current US senator, spoke in acceptance of his Legacy Award. This award was presented to him for his outstanding demonstration of professional excellence along with his representation of godly character.

On Feb. 23, 2008 as part of the Centennial Celebration Biola celebrated its 100 years with 600 guests at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The location was significant because it is close to the steps of the Biola campus of the past, where it once stood on the cross of Hope and Sixth Streets. Prior to the main meal, guests were able to browse the memorabilia displaying the decades of Biola’s history. John Thune, Biola alumnus and current U.S. senator, was the featured speaker at the event and received the Legacy Award. The Legacy Gala was one of many events in celebration of the Biola Centennial Year. Check out the slideshow for a closer look into this celebratory event.
