At the AS Senate’s weekly Tuesday meetings, senators give audience to parties requesting money, vote on pending proposals and discuss finances. Here is an outlined summary of the most recent senate meeting, which was held November 13.
NEW PROPOSALS
1. Honorable Biola Cheese Society event—$500
i. November 28—semi-formal dress, jazz music, cheese tasting.
ii. $4 at the door—half of the money will go to Compassion International.
iii. Club has around 150 members.
iv. Only room for 80 people.
2. Conversion ping-pong table top for Hope Hall—$315
i. To be placed on top of a billiard table.
3. Commuter Christmas party—$200
i. December 6
ii. Desserts, drinks, music
4. Stewart Hall improvements—$575
i. Kitchen supplies
ii. Foosball table repairs

VOTING (no proposals last week)
- Honorable Cheese Society event—$500, PASSED
VP of Finance Update
- AS budget meeting: December 4.
- AS chairs will propose their spring budget to the senate.
- $657 was apparently found in AS safes; it was added to AS funds.

Miscellaneous
- Plan to remodel AS office was discussed. Over $30,000 worth of furniture was donated to AS, according to Jared Gibo, AS president. He wants to add carpet to match.
- Advertising campaign to begin for AS’s new Web Site.
- Almost $500 has been collected for “Change for Hope” fundraiser in Hope Hall, according to Eric Weaver, Hope senator.
- The official AS recommendation for chapel change was reviewed.
