Thomas Rahkola, Staff Writer
I grew up in Newberg, Oregon, a beautiful small town surrounded by sloping vineyards and patches of oak groves. I am pursuing work in journalism because I am fascinated by the world God created and the unique stories of each of His people. Though I’m a multimedia journalist by major, I am also fascinated by other creative disciplines like poetry, music or film. When I’m not doing any of that, I’m probably reading for Torrey or trying to bake out of my dorm kitchen.
When I graduate I would love to get a job on the East coast or overseas writing for either a food or political journal. Or maybe both. Eventually though, the plan is to end up back in Oregon on a small farm.
