The Chimes

I’ve spent the majority of my life in Escondido, CA, which is enough time to call it home, I think. I grew up breathing in the musky smell of yellow paperbacks between the aisles of my school’s library, and I always enjoyed the sight of books in little tower-stacks, scattered about my room. In terms of dreams, I’ve had many, but the one that’s stuck around the longest is the dream of writing the kind of book someone would find dumped in an alleyway, completely unreadable because of the blotches of pen ink from textual annotations. Though, I’ve been told that my handwriting is greatly illegible—which is alright, because writing is only for the author—so I suppose it’s a good thing that the Chimes is all online now. My favorite color is green—specifically #172808—but I tell people it’s red, just to retain an air of consistency. My favorite poem of all time is “Ozymandias” by Percy Bysshe Shelley—fun fact: this poem is also the title of one of my favorite episodes of Breaking Bad. I listen to all sorts of music, but I’ve recently found myself on a rotation of Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, and DC Talk. Enough said.
