FashioNOsta: Man capris and other male faux pas

So I am standing there talking to a group of people when I look over and see little hairs peeking out of one of the boy’s V-neck T-shirts. What is that?! As if that weren’t bad enough the shirt was so tight it didn’t leave much to the imagination. I could see almost every rib God had put in his little body. Not cute.

While we’re on the subject of boys in not-so-cute clothes, I have one word: “manpris.” Everyone knows what I’m talking about. Now don’t get me wrong — some boys can pull off the styles, different cuts and fits, but not all. If you found your “manpris” in your little sister’s closet, then chances are you probably shouldn’t be wearing them. If you found them literally in the women’s or girls’ section of a store, chances are you are literally wearing capris and don’t even get the term “manpri” applied to your garment. Just do everyone, including yourself, a favor and stay out of the women’s and girls’ section in stores altogether. There are only so many times you can tell the person working there that you’re “shopping for your girlfriend.” Come on boys, I don’t think so. Don’t say that you haven’t said that to people working either because I’ve totally heard it.

Boys one more thing, let’s pause for a second and talk about the not-so-great faux-hawks that have been wandering from class to class. I’m talking about the un-brushed, never been washed, and don’t-fit-the-preppy-boy-wearing-it type of faux-hawks. Do us all a favor and just cut it off please. There are so many different ways for guys to cut their hair and style it. So why would you even try with something that doesn’t work for you?

Faux-hawks are becoming the past so let’s embrace the future and just cut ’em off or grow them out. I’m just trying to help you guys get those GYRAD dates fighting for you. Now boys, understand that what walks across the runway will be seen in public, not just magazines. It may take awhile, but the runway fashions always come around to us. Almost every single male model walking across the runways this fall had shaggy haircuts. Almost like a Beatles type do but choppier. It looked great on them too. It wasn’t really styled either – it’s a very “wash and go” haircut, which will help to cut down the two hour prep time that every guy spends getting ready in the morning.
