On Jan. 30, residents and music fans from all over Southern California united to spread a message of hope to Los Angeles after the devastating fires that tore through Pacific Palisades and Altadena. The FireAid Benefit Concert, which raised aid and awareness for the future rebuilding of these cities, hosted almost 30 of the biggest names in music at both the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum simultaneously, in Inglewood.
The show lasted for over five hours between both venues and live streams across over 20 platforms, including screenings at select AMC theatres, taking digital donations throughout the entire show. Viewers and fans in the stands heard short, back-to-back sets from artists like Billie Eilish and Finneas, Green Day, Gracie Abrams, Katie Perry, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more, including surprise guests. Between each set, the audience would watch video interviews of families and individuals who were affected by the fires, to hear their hope-filled stories, while also getting a glimpse of the tragedy.
The concert was a historic event for the city, as so many music legends, donors, residents and supporters met in the venues to share stories of hope and needs for short-term and long-term relief efforts within Los Angeles. The night radiated resilience and love for the city, as stars spewed talent on stage and fans in the audience, as well as corporate sponsorships, raised $60 million before the concert even began.
