The Biola cross country mens’ and womens’ teams took first place in the PacWest championships over Azusa Pacific University. The men’s team pulled off an astonishing upset as they were slated to get third place going into the race.

EAGLES DOMINATE

With Ben White leading the race from start to finish, Biola snagged the win with a final score of 41(Biola)-42(APU). Redshirt sophomore Jerry Baltzer and sophomore Ryan Todd both had personal best times and finished in the Top 7. Little things like this made it a perfectly executed race which allowed the men’s team to take home their third conference championship in the last 5 years.

The womens’ team continued their dominant season by putting 10 runners in the top 21. Sophomore Lynette Ruiz, beat the frontrunner by 0.2 seconds for the win. The womens’ team won the meet 36-52.
