Vehicle Theft ― Bluff parking lot

Occurred Jan. 19, 5:20 am

A car was stolen from the Bluff Apartments parking lot on the morning of Jan. 19. An investigation was able to determine that the car was stolen at 5:20 am. The case is active and was referred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Violation of a Court Order ― Campus wide

Reported on Jan. 19, occurred prior.

A Biola employee reported that a court order barring communication was broken before Jan. 19. Correspondence in violation of the court order was received. The case remains active and was referred to the LASD.

Petty Theft ― Rosecrans apartments

Occurred prior to Jan. 20 at 12:06 pm.

A bicycle was stolen from outside the apartments on Rosecrans Avenue. The case remains active.

Petty Theft ― Grove Modular buildings

Occurred between Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. and Jan 20 at 8 a.m.

Furniture was stolen from a room in the Grove and was reported on Jan. 21 by a Biola staff member. The case remains active.

Obtaining Money, Labor or Property by False Pretense ― Thompson Hall

Reported on Jan. 27 at 2:09 p.m. occurred Jan. 18 at 12 p.m. 

A student in Thompson Hall reported being taken advantage of in a scam. The case is active.

Forgery ― Metzger Hall

Occurred prior to Jan. 31 at 9:34 a.m.

A check was cashed fraudulently and was reported by Biola’s accounting department. The case is under active investigation and has been referred to the LASD.

Extortion ― Hart Hall

Reported on Jan. 31 at 5:52 p.m., occurred Jan. 31 at 5:15 p.m.

A student reported being extorted over electronic communication. The case remains active with Campus Safety but has not been referred to LASD.
