Men’s golf returned to the green at the Sierra La Verne Country Club to compete against the La Verne Leopards in a dual match. The Eagles had a rocky start to the day, giving the Leopards the opportunity to pull away from the beginning.

La Verne used their home course to their advantage, and were well prepared to play in the difficult greens. The Eagles were not as ready for the slope of the course, putting them in a tough spot. However, Biola was able to adapt to this challenging course, finishing the second nine strong.

As a team, the Eagles shot a 313 on the day. This score was not enough to beat the Leopards, who finished with a score of 281. Senior Dominic Ariondo returned strong from his brief injury and was the leading Eagle, posting a 75 on the par-71 course.

Seniors Austin Bishop and Kyle McAbee remained steady, just under 80 strokes. This is now the seventh straight sub-80 round for Bishop and McAbee. Both these athletes remain neck-and-neck in leading the team in score on the season, having consistently put up near-identical numbers.

This dual match served as a good preparation before the men travel to Chandler, Arizona to compete in the ACU Fall Firestorm Invitational next week.
