Biola women’s basketball’s leading scorer has increased her points per game total over the last week to a fantastic 17.7. Senior point guard DeMoria White has scored 82 points in her last four games, utilizing her deadly three-point shooting and ability to create and knock down good looks, helping the Eagles win three of those games. White shot 50 percent from behind the arc on 26 shots, as well as 52.5 percent shooting from the field in that same span. She also gathered 14 boards, including eight in a 61-59 win on Jan. 11 over Point Loma Nazarene University. White scored the final four points of that game, including a late three-pointer to put the Eagles ahead for good. Her 11 fourth quarter points, including two free throws with eight seconds left to put Biola up by three, gave the Eagles the edge in their 67-66 win over Concordia University Irvine on Jan. 13. The guard also stole the ball six times in the four-game stretch, including four steals during a Jan. 20 loss to Hawaii Pacific University. Her stellar play, especially in crunch time, helped lead the Eagles to two big PacWest wins and earns her Chimes Athlete of the Week.
