Local residents of La Mirada came together at La Mirada Regional Park last Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the city’s second annual Olive Festival. The festival provided a variety of attractions including a food fair, live music, a classic car show and a five kilometer run sponsored by Biola. Local businesses, such as Golden Spoon and Carino’s Italian Grill, were also in attendance to promote their services.

The Olive Festival began last year to celebrate La Mirada’s history and to provide “a way to showcase local businesses and restaurants,” according to the La Mirada Chamber of Commerce web site. The olive theme was chosen to reflect La Mirada’s rich history in growing olives. For more information, visit www.lmchamber.org.
