The women’s golf team traveled to the Eagle Glen Golf Club on Feb. 22 to participate in Cal Baptist University’s Women’s Invitational. Biola finished 135 over par as a team, more than 80 strokes higher than the host team who finished 50 over.

Finishing

Senior Jasmine Rodriguez finished first for Biola. Her final score of 28 over par placed her in a tie for 57th on the individual leaderboard. Rodriguez finished 35 above par in her sophomore year the last time the Eagles participated in this tournament.

The second lowest finish for the Eagles was sophomore Sarah Paravina. Paravina finished one stroke behind teammate Rodriguez and finished the tournament tied 59th individually.

Sophomore Lauren Van Horn shot 36 over par, landing her third on the team and 69th on the tournament’s individual leaderboard. She was followed by junior Amanda Hobbs, who shot 42 over, sophomore Kristen Hicks with 48 over and sophomore Kristin Stone who shot a +62.

Biola’s 15th place finish placed them above only Fort Lewis College and Holy Names University. The only other Golden State Athletic Conference team to compete in the tournament was Arizona Christian University. The Firestorm finished 8th with 93 shots over par.

Next

Biola’s next tournament is the Embry-Riddle Spring Invite on March 7. After this the Eagles will have only one more tournament to better their record before the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament.
