The Student Government Association began the Spring 2016 semester with a total contingency fund of $114,154.93, as of Jan. 31.
Leadership selection chapel will be held on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. in Chase Gym where the candidates for SGA President, Senior Vice President and Student Missions Union President will present their platforms. There will also be a debate on Feb. 16 at the fireplace at 9 p.m. Voting will be held on Feb. 17 and 18 either in person at Flour Fountain or online.
Proposals
Taylor Stribbling, SGA president, proposed $7,500 to offer 750 subsidized student tickets for $10 each for the Lecrae concert on April 3.
Max Soh, SGA diversity liaison, proposed $2,237.14 for the SCORR Conference on Feb. 18 and 19. The money would go toward refreshments, a promotional event prior to SCORR, a taiko drum performance on the second day of SCORR and a student leadership discussion session.
Voting
Stribbling’s proposal for $7,500 for subsidized Lecrae tickets passed in full in a vote of 13-1-1.
Soh’s proposal for SCORR conference passed unanimously in the full amount of $2,237.14 in a vote of 14-0-1.
