Women’s cross country clinches second place

The Eagles arrived seconds behind Loyola Marymount, show strong performance in Titan Invitational in Fullerton.

With the end of the season on the horizon, the women’s cross country team took a trip to compete in the Titan Invitational in Fullerton, Calif. Five out of the six runners placed in the top half, earning Biola second place.

The Eagles ran against teams such as Orange Coast College, Long Beach State University, California Baptist University, Hope International University, University of California Santa Barbara, along with Loyola Marymount, who took first in the invitational.

Out of the number of teams who competed in the race, the Eagles took second place, following behind Loyola Marymount by a matter of seconds. The women’s cross country team ended the run with 43 points, a team total time of 1:35:46.11 and an average time of 19:09.23.These results placed them just behind Loyola Marymount, who finished with 40 points and a time of 1:35:11.66.

Two women runners found themselves in the top 20 by the end of the race. Out of the total 87 runners, junior Alisa Murray finished in 12th place with a time of 18:39.31. Freshman Melissa Ledesma came five places after in 17th place with a total time of 18:53.62.

The Eagles’ cross country season comes down to the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on Nov. 7 at 3:00 p.m.
