Due to increased training for future meets, head coach Sean Henning decided to withhold ten of the top runners from competition in the Coyote Invite in San Bernardino, Calif. on Sept. 26. Undeterred by the absence of their fastest teammates, the participating Biola runners took fourth out of seven teams.

FIRST TO FINISH

The first to finish the 6k run for Biola was freshman Kaili Waller, who finished 18th with a time of 24:04. Behind Waller was fellow freshman Hannah Hunsaker in 19th with the time of 24:13.

Biola’s second grouping was sophomore Hannah Feehan in 22nd and freshman Kaitlin Quaid immediately after. Freehan finished with a time of 24:18.40, barely more than a second faster than Quaid at 24:19.8. Not far behind was freshman Melissa Ledesma, who finished 26th and sophomore Mikaela Martin at 29th.

COMBINED TIME

The Eagles’ combined time equaled 2:01:22.4 for an average time of 24:16.48 between all of the runners. This earned them fourth place above California State University Los Angeles, San Bernardino Valley College and Victor Valley College. The Eagles were the only school from the Golden State Athletic Conference to compete in the meet.

Biola’s next meet is the Triton Invitational on Oct. 10 hosted by the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, CA. Both men and women will compete in the invitational and the women’s team will return to their full lineup.
